Christmas Came Early

for Beckem

I have been looking at getting a QR code to add to Beck’s headstone for the last 2 years. The mortuary site is fine, but I really wanted something easier to find, where we could post pictures, videos, stories, etc. So after looking at a bunch of companies I got him a Turning Hearts medallion that is affixed to the flower vase on his headstone. Now anyone that goes out there can scan it and see so many of his memories. Friends and family can sign in and leave memories, but most importantly it’s a central place for all of us to feel close to him.

When my grandpa passed he had expressed that he wanted his ashes mixed with my grandmas and put in the same plot. Once we have them together out there, I can’t think of a greater tribute than one of these medallions.

I am grateful for companies like this one that continue to normalize our grief. Losing someone can feel like the end of the entire world. Losing the memories we hold is the same. It’s why most of us are on social media right? So we have a place to look back and remember where we were at whatever point in time.

I’ll keep saying this… but being an influencer is not my end goal with this blog. My goal is to share my journey in hopes that maybe parts of it will help your journey. I will continue to share my authenticity as well as the tools and resources that I have picked up. Something like a QR code on a headstone isn’t a product I would have ever even considered until my own loss happened. It’s something I’ll give as gifts to those around me, who have lost. It’s meaningful and healing.

I reached out to Turning Hearts about what an amazing product they have and in turn they have allowed me to share a link/code with anyone along the way.
